 Brenda Ellison

Brenda Ellison is a graduate of Palmetto High School and received an Associate’s of Art degree at Anderson University, a Bachelors of Science from the University of South Carolina and a Master’s plus 30 at Clemson University.

In 1971, she began her career teaching at both Wren Elementary and Cedar Grove Elementary. Mrs. Ellison was a member of the South Carolina Teachers Association for 12 years.  In 1983, Mrs. Ellison was appointed as principal of Pelzer Elementary and Cedar Grove Elementary. Under her supervision, Cedar Grove became an award winning school receiving “Excellent” ratings and awards for student test scores on numerous occasions. Ellison was a member of the South Carolina School Association of School Administrators for 25 years. After 37 years in education, Mrs. Ellison retired in 2009.

Mrs. Ellison and her husband Tommy have lived in the Cedar Grove community for over 40 years, attending church at Cedar Grove Baptist. She has two grown children, three grandsons and one granddaughter.
